Vignobles Gueissard
The thirst for Provence rosé, especially from Bandol and our inability to satisfy the demand that we receive every year for the rosé from Domaine Tempier has persuaded us to search for a second string to this particular bow. The result of this research is not only an excellent rosé with the hallmarks that distinguish Bandol rosé from the run of the mill pink wines from Provence, but also a truly delightful white wine and a useful inexpensive red too. This new cellar was launched as recently as 2010 by Pauline Giraud and clement Minne and promises to be a very worthwhile addition to our catalogue. There are two rosés, one a Cotes Provence and the other a Bandol which offers much of the appeal that one finds in the Tempier with the added consolation of a considerably lower price. The white Cuvée ‘G’ has proved something of a revelation. Made from 85% rolle (aka vermentino) and 15% clairette, it is deliciously different from any other white wine in our list, fine with food but also very rewarding as a sole aperitif.
