Two wines standout to demand our regular attention here. The Saint Bris is the only expression of the sauvignon grape to come out of Burgundy. It is more interesting than a lot of Sancerre. The Irancy is a northern outpost of the pinot noir overlooked by most UK importers, but likely to be of increasing value given the impact of climate change and the importance of marginal ripening for this delicate variety. For the moment it offers the chance of acquiring exciting pinot at a very friendly price for a wine of such individuality and charm.
