Kamptal is one of the important Austrian wine regions that has never been represented in our list till now so I am delighted to have discovered a more than worthy representative in the estate of Gerhard Deim in Schôonberg am Kamp. Definition, balance, individuality, refreshment are obvious. The presentation is as clear as the message that these are wines that sing of their vineyard site and this is emphasised by the prominence given on the label to the location rather than the grape variety, an approach that I always like since it points to originality.
